On today’s episode Epicinsanity, gives you a quick personal update, and then he answers some of questions about BlizzCon for people attending it live for the first time!

And if you hold out until the very end of the show, you can find out new ways you can support the show!

Sit back relax and enjoy Season 2 Episode 30 of the Epic Questions podcast!

Ways YOU Can Support the Show:

Here are a few ways you can do that!

iTunes/Stitcher Reviews:

Are you enjoying the show? The best way to let us know that you are is leaving a Review on iTunes or Stitcher. If you leave a review, screenshot it, and email the show at EpicQuestionsPodcast@gmail.com, and I will create an awesome audio bumper for you to use on your show, use as a ringtone, or use it to wake you up in the morning. Either way, it’s going to be Epic!

Overview of the Show:

Ever listen to a podcast and wish they talked about what YOU wanted to hear about? Well now is your chance! Each and every week I’m going to sit down and do just that. With Season Two of the Epic Questions podcast, I take YOUR Blizzard Entertainment game questions and bring a different perspective to each and every one of them. Here at the Epic Questions Podcast, no question goes unanswered, and no listener goes unheard.

Asking Questions just got a little more Epic.

What’s Different With Season Two:

Season 2 of Epic Questions is going to be a little more discussion focused. Previously on the show, we answered every questions we received. As much as we love questions, it became hard answering the same questions we had just answered a few weeks prior, or just last week. So you control the show, and how often it is produced. A new Episode will be recorded as soon as we receive 5-10 solid questions to answer on the show. Questions will be reviewed by the hosts then hand selected for the next Episode.

Previously the show was only answered World of Warcraft based questions. But this time around, we are going to deep dive into the whole Blizzard Universe. But have no fear, the episodes will be split into two different categories: World of Warcraft Only, & Blizzard Entertainment. This will make it so you folks that only want to hear Warcraft discussion don’t have to skip through episodes to find the information you want to hear.

From time to time, the show will invite special guests to help with some or all questions on different topics, so if you have anyone you want to hear from, let us know!

Epic Answers:

All answers provided here are the TL;DR versions, and links. If you want to hear the whole answer, consider listening to the episode!

Question: What days should I plan to be in Anaheim for the convention?

  • BlizzCon is Friday, November 3  and Saturday, November 4th.
  • Badge Pick up starts on Thursday 2nd.

Question: What airports should I fly into?

  • LAX – Cheapest.
  • SNA – John Wayne – Closest
  • ONA – Ontario International Airport – Additional option.

Question: How should I get from the airport to the convention center/hotel?

Options:

Question: This is my first BlizzCon, is there anything to do BEFORE the convention opens?

Question: I’m traveling by myself, and I don’t know anyone that’s going to be there. Will I be lonely and hate myself for going to BlizzCon?

Welcome to the Epic Answers portion of the show! This is the part of the show where I take questions submitted by members of the World of Warcraft Community and try to give different perspectives to each and every one of them.

Question from Anonymous via Site Contact: On Episode 28, you talked a lot about preventing someone from getting ahold of your personal information, and i really enjoyed it. But what if you already have a stalker, or someone following you around in-game or out? What steps can be taken to stop it?

Question from Jonathan via E-mail: Recently on the forums, Ornyx posted “I assume you’re trying to make a joke about content, because, looking at your Armory, it appears you’ve only engaged with about 25% of Legion” and the community is annoyed with the lack of professionalism when it comes to Community managers interaction with the community. Do you find that to be the case?

Epic Answers:

Welcome to the Epic Answers portion of the show! This is the part of the show where I take questions submitted by members of the Blizzard Entertainment Community and try to give different perspectives to each and every one of them.

This week Epic talks about internet safety and how to keep yourself safe as a content creator.

Here are some important quotes that will help you if you found this page, but haven’t listened to the show:

  • step one of protecting yourself is not exposing your personal information to the whole internet. Go by an alias, or an abbreviated name like John S. or Jay Smith. Or something cool like E.I. or something.”
  • have email addresses for social media and content creation that aren’t linked to the real me. Use a business email, even a free email on Gmail that doesn’t expose your personal information to the world.”
  • Keep your websites safe by paying for privacy protection. Your full name, home address, phone number and email are available for everyone to see. If you need help, move to Siteground.com web hosting and get protected today! And use this link to support the show!
  • “Use a different name on skype than you use for everything else. And don’t share it with just anyone.”
  • protect yourself from that by using a VPN. A VPN or Virtual Private Network is a method used to add security and privacy to private and public networks. This will help keep you safe.”
  • get a post office box that’s not tied to your address.”
  • For Twitch streamers, add your personal information to your banned chat filter.”
  • Twitch streamers, use a chat bot like Nightbot and filter out certain domains and links to prevent people from posting your information on Imgur and them linking it in your channel.”
  • Additional steps that I have taken are having two phone numbers. I have my private number and my business number.”
  • At events, “ don’t post pictures, or live stream, or video tap yourself checking into the hotel, or going into your hotel room.”
  • don’t invite random new friends back to your room for drinks or to hang out. You never know what the other person’s motive is. Male or female, we have to protect ourselves.”
  • At this point, you should know the “don’t take a drink from anyone unless if you saw it poured” rule. But you also need to be aware of WHO is around you at all times. If you start seeing the same person lingering around, or always watching you, or walking past, make a mental note.”
  • “Do a room scan. Look at the people looking at you, look past the people at what’s in the room, and know where the exits are.”
  • I like to use the “stop and think” method. When walking down the street, you stop abruptly and quickly turn around like you are lost. This does two things… if someone is following you, they will also feel the need to stop walking and look around. And gives them away. It also gives you a chance to scan the room and see if anything seems out of place.”
  • “go with your gut instinct. If something feels out of place, or doesn’t feel right, remove yourself from the situation. If the drink tastes funny, don’t drink it.”
  • “I’m not talking about this because I want to scare you. I want more people to watch on Twitch and more podcasts to listen to. Other content creators aren’t a competition, they are an inspiration. I want more of you around me.”

Welcome to the Epic Time with Guests portion of the show. This is the part of the show where Epicinsanity sits down with different members of the Blizzard Entertainment community to find out who they are, what they do, why they do it, and more.

Today, Epicinsantiy has a very special guest on the show. Epic has probably been playing Blizzard games longer than he has been alive, but his skills are higher than Epic could ever dream of achieving. Epicinsanity was privileged enough to have met him at BlizzCon 2013 and noticed he had a passion for video games more intense than his. And Epic has enjoyed hanging out with him over the past four years at BizzCon, but today he finally sits down and talk with one of his favorite young minds in the Blizzard Entertainment community. He previously talked about Heroes of the Storm on The Nexus Podcast. Now, he’s talking about Overwatch as one of the hosts on the Uberview podcast. We are excited to welcome Umphy to the show today!

Where You Can Find Umphy:

On Twitter at: @UmphyOW

Questions from Matt via Site Contact: Last week we got the Uprising digital comic so we had an idea of what was coming, but what’s the deal with this whole Overwatch Uprising event that was announced?

Question from Matt via Site Contact: Follow up questions to my last one, what are your thoughts about PVE content in a mainly PVP focused game?

Question from Krista B via Email: I’ve been actively playing Overwatch since the beginning, and I attempt to play competitive each season to test my skills. I start all excited for a new season then everything goes south after my placement matches. How is it that you can win two matches and get 100SR increase, but as soon as you lose one, you lose 200SR. What are your thoughts on the Overwatch Skill Rating system?

Welcome to the Epic Answers portion of the show! This is the part of the show where I take questions submitted by members of the World of Warcraft Community and try to give different perspectives to each and every one of them.

Epic’s Reflections from Last week.

Question from Retbull via Site Contact: Last week I asked a question about the Broken Shore being large with nothing to do, but this week we discovered that patch 7.2 has more to offer than just hanging out on the Broken Shores. In NA, the mage tower was built, and along with that came a lot of hate from the community over two things… Legion Assaults, and The hidden Artifact appearance scenario. Can you help give an epic explanation about why people need to settle down?

Question from Anonymous via Email: I’ve been a fan of World of Warcraft podcasts for years, listening to shows like the Instance, Hearthcast, and even back to the day of Legendary with Josh Allen, Mike B, and Gary Gannon. I have always thought about starting my own show, but there seems to be so many of them already out there. Any advice for a noob looking to getting into podcasting?

End of Questions:

But that’s all the time I have for questions this week, but have no fear, I’ll have more to go over in the next episode of the Epic Questions Podcast. If you have questions for the show, you can send them into the show via Twitter, e-mail, Facebook, site contact, Ask.FM and beyond! And thank  you so much in advance!

Welcome to the Epic Answers portion of the show! This is the part of the show where I take questions submitted by members of the World of Warcraft Community and try to give different perspectives to each and every one of them.

Question from Matt via Email: As you know, 7.2 is here. And there is so much to do, but as a reputation completionist I feel the desire to farm reps until my hands fall off. But isn’t a little too late in the expansion to release such a big change to reputations?

Question from Retbull via Site Contact: From the Broken Shores to the Broken Isles and now back to the Broken Shores. Before I experienced it myself, I felt like it was going to be more gated similar to Isle of Thunder in MOP. But that wasn’t the case. Does it feel like the area of the broken shores too big with nothing in it?

Question from Oprahwindfury via Site Contact: So Patch 7.2 has a lot of bugs. Like Frost DK’s can’t use spells, Shaman are pulling the raids, and frost mages can’t do frost things. It’s like Blizzard didn’t even test this patch before it was released. What is the deal with this patch!?

Twitter direct message from HanzoMain : I see you talking about it on Twitter, I hear you talking about it on FrozeNerdz. Yet, I never see anyone else trying for it, or attempting to do Nightbane runs in Kara. You make it sound easy, but clearly it’s not if people aren’t doing it. Most groups I find can’t even finish Kara. So what’s up with Nightbane?

Read the strat and watch the video here!

Site Contact from Krista  B.: Why do you play World of Warcraft?

Email from Sheri K.: So Blizzard added Micro Holidays to the game, but it doesn’t seem like people are actually caring about them. Hundreds of people tested the Dalaran City pub crawl on the PTR, but no one seemed to actually do the event in Un’goro. Is Blizzard wasting time on these events?

Email from Anonymous: Recently, my raid team was short on healers. And since I play a shadow priest, I was asked to “flip to holy” and keep us alive. But I haven’t really healed in WOW at all. And I don’t really like it. I’ll keep doing it for my raid team, but have you ever been “forced” into something that you didn’t fully enjoy?

Twitter direct message from Anonymous:  Are their any Twitch streamers you would suggest for new players to WoW? I’ve watched some streamers, but most are high level raiders or pvpers and I’m just getting more confused than anything trying to watch them.

Streamer’s and Content Creators to check out: Slootbag, FatBossTV, SpartySmallwood, and PreachGaming.

Site Contact from Matt: Now that Patch 7.1.5 has been out for some time, and there is a ton of 7.2 talk, I’m starting to feel burnt out with WOW again… Have you ever been burnt out, and if so, how did you overcome it?

Email from Josh B.: Last week, the World of Warcraft community was informed that players were making RL money for carrying people through raid content. That’s a thing?
