Ways YOU Can Support the Show:

Here are a few ways you can do that!

iTunes/Stitcher Reviews:

Are you enjoying the show? The best way to let us know that you are is leaving a Review on iTunes or Stitcher. If you leave a review, screenshot it, and email the show at EpicQuestionsPodcast@gmail.com, and I will create an awesome audio bumper for you to use on your show, use as a ringtone, or use it to wake you up in the morning. Either way, it’s going to be Epic!

Overview of the Show:

Ever listen to a podcast and wish they talked about what YOU wanted to hear about? Well now is your chance! Each and every week I’m going to sit down and do just that. With Season Two of the Epic Questions podcast, I take YOUR Blizzard Entertainment game questions and bring a different perspective to each and every one of them. Here at the Epic Questions Podcast, no question goes unanswered, and no listener goes unheard.

Asking Questions just got a little more Epic.

What’s Different With Season Two:

Season 2 of Epic Questions is going to be a little more discussion focused. Previously on the show, we answered every questions we received. As much as we love questions, it became hard answering the same questions we had just answered a few weeks prior, or just last week. So you control the show, and how often it is produced. A new Episode will be recorded as soon as we receive 5-10 solid questions to answer on the show. Questions will be reviewed by the hosts then hand selected for the next Episode.

Previously the show was only answered World of Warcraft based questions. But this time around, we are going to deep dive into the whole Blizzard Universe. But have no fear, the episodes will be split into two different categories: World of Warcraft Only, & Blizzard Entertainment. This will make it so you folks that only want to hear Warcraft discussion don’t have to skip through episodes to find the information you want to hear.

From time to time, the show will invite special guests to help with some or all questions on different topics, so if you have anyone you want to hear from, let us know!

Epic Answers:

Welcome to the Epic Answers portion of the show! This is the part of the show where I take questions submitted by members of the Blizzard Entertainment Community and try to give different perspectives to each and every one of them.

This is the Too Long, Didn’t Listen version of the show:

Packing Tips:

Make a List: Write down everything you want to pack to make sure you don’t forget anything.

  • Print out any BlizzCon ticket information.
  • Print out your flight itinerary.
  • Print out any shuttle bus information you may need.
  • Print out event tickets like Wowhead Party, etc.

Flying with Check Luggage requires an additional fee. So if you can buy it there for less than $50 to $100, do so. It will save you money.

  • Toiletries: soap, shampoo, deodorant, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, toothbrush.
    • If you are trying to travel light, there is a CVS, Walgreens and Target near the convention center.
    • Don’t pack full bottles. Buy Travel size bottles.
  • Chapstick, moisturizer, sunscreen, and allergy meds.
    • SoCal is hot. Its dry. Be prepared.
  • Tylenol/Aleve/Ibuprofen, or your pain med of choice: you might get headaches, your feet may hurt, or you may be hungover and need some help.
  • ALL MEDICATIONS: Anything you a prescribed to take, or anything you take on a regular basis. Pack them in your carry on luggage.
  • Water Bottle.
  • Bandaids: accidents happen. Blisters form on your heels.
  • Vitamins / EmergencyC / Airbourne / Hand Sanitizer: Plan ahead, start taking vitamins now because it takes 2-4 weeks for them to be fully effective. I personally have been already overloading my body with them for the past few weeks. And at BlizzCon, I will start every morning with a pack of Emergency C and an Airborne Tablet in a glass of water or Orange Juice. It tastes like death, but it’s completely worth it!
  • Comfortable clothes: Pack some comfy nerdware like a Frozen Nerdz shirt, or even a Epic Questions shirt, or your favorite Jinx hoodie, or Blizzard Gear store shirt. And a pair of comfortable pants, or shorts.
    • If you are going to be there for 5 days, pack enough clothes for 7.
    • This means you wear a fresh shirt, fresh pair of shocks, and a fresh pair of underwear every day you are there. Be clean. Don’t smell like a serial killer.
    • Pack one nice shirt, or dress, incase you go out to a nice restaurant.
  • Comfortable shoes: You will be walking around A LOT.
  • Hoodie/Jacket: Even though it’s SoCal, it gets cold at night.
  • Phone, phone charger, extra batteries. For any other electronic devices you bring (laptop, camera, iPad), remember to bring charging devices. Bring portable battery charger.
  • Leave space in your suitcase for any Blizzard Gear Shop items and the 2017 Goody Bag. If you are thinking of buying posters, bring spare poster tubes in case they sell out. Or go to the FedEX inside the Hilton and buy some at the start of the Con. Also, if you don’t have room, pay to ship the items home.
  • Bring spare cash. There are ATMs, but not everything takes cards.
  • Have identification tags on your bags.

Things You will Want at the Convention:

  • Small Bag / Backpack: Something to carry your stuff around.
  • Water Bottle: The air is dry and hot, so make sure your body is ready for it.
  • Portable Battery Charger / Charging Cable: Make sure you have at least a charger for your phone with you.
  • Printed Off Ticket information: Print them off just in case.
  • CASH. In years past, there were problems with the credit card system double charging people. But to make sure you don’t go over budget, carry some cash.
  • Small snack: Throw a snickers bar in your bag, or a granola bar, or anything to snack on
  • ID Badge: A lot of people attending BlizzCon get custom made badges from community artists for the convention, but if you didn’t have time or the money, you can easily make one of your own.
    • I’ve never once bought a badge. But I made one using photoshop, a walgreens print kiosk, and some 3M adhesive sheets. I made a 4×6 photo into a 3×5  badge. And covered it with plastic. All for like $5. You can print out your twitter/facebook avatar, or your gamer tag, or whatever people may know you by. It helps a lot to put a name with a face.

Packing Tips for People Planning to Drink:

  • Drink responsibly:
    • Know your limit.
    • Pace yourself.
  • Buy a plastic flask.
    • DO NOT BRING IT INSIDE THE CONVENTION CENTER.
  • Buy Pedialyte:
    • Don’t buy the clear stuff. It’s nasty. Get grape/purple.
  • Drink water:
    • Drink a huge glass of water before bed.
  • Do whatever hangover cure works for you.

On the show, I talked about some of things on this list were inspired/reinforced by Broximar on his blog. You an find his Minimalist view on packing for BlizzCon here!  And give him a follow on Twitter here, and Twitch here!

End of Questions:

Hello Nerdz!

Over the past four years of podcasting, we have been asked on many different occasions on how people can directly support the show. Outside of spreading the word, retweeting, and telling your mothers best friends nieces nephews dog to listen to the show, some times people want to take their dedication to the Epic Questions to the next level.

Instead just adding a PayPal donate button to the website, or making shady deals in dark alleys with listeners we’ve decided to launch something a little more official. And that’s where Patreon comes in.

What is Patreon?

Patreon is a way for content creators to get paid for creating the content they are already creating (podcasts, videos, & more). Instead of having advertisements on the show from sponsors, Patreon gives fans a direct way to support their favorite content creators with as little as $1 per month! Patreon gives content creators the freedom to keep creating the content you love without having to worry about the cost of creating it! By supporting your favorite content creator, you become a Patron of the arts.

This patreon will collectively support the Frozen Nerdz Podcast, the Epic Questions Podcast, and any other projects that may arise! With the support of this Patreon, you will be directly supporting the creation of future content funded and directed by you the Patron on the show!

All Patrons of the show will be added to our Patreon community and will have direct contact with us even more than most of you already have on Twitter, in-game, or beyond. This elite community of Nerdz will help the direction of our show, future content, merchandise, giveaways, and more. We’d love to have you as part of our inner nerd circle if you are willing to join!

If you are interested in supporting our Patreon, you can check it out here!

If you aren’t interested in supporting the show via Patreon there are other ways of supporting us! Check out our “Support the Show” page here!

We also want it to be known… The show will continue with -or- without Patreon. Nothing will be added behind a pay wall, all of our content will still be available to everyone each and every week 100% for free just like it has been for the past 4 years. But Patreon gives us the ability to create more different better produced content for you. You are our main focus. And that doesn’t change!

Below you will find our most frequently asked questions (more added once asked), our milestone goals, and our pledging and reward tiers!

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any support you may be able to provide!

The Epic Questions Patreon Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

Here is a collective list of frequently asked questions about our Patreon. If you don’t find an answer here, please do not hesitate to talk to us directly via email (IceBox@FrozeNerdz.com).

Why Patreon?

Even before the creation of Epic Questions, we had been contacted by numerous listeners wanting to support the show. Since we haven’t had any formal way to track, or reward those that have given to the show, we wanted to create a Patreon in order to give back to those that take the pledge to give back to us.

Not everyone understands the behind the scenes process of podcasting. So here is a quick breakdown on how it works for us for each episode.

In order for our episodes to into the hands and ears of our listeners, we upload them to a web host server to be stored. When you download an episode via iTunes/Stitcher, you are downloading it directly from our web host. In order to have this storage, we pay a monthly service fee in order make that possible. Over the years, this fee has been covered by the hosts of the show, and will continue to be covered even if the Patreon isn’t successful. Currently, our monthly costs include: Web hosting, web domain fees, web security, and podcast hosting. The total of these fee’s is around $100 per month.

In order to keep the podcast focused 100% on Blizzard Entertainment games and not interrupted by hearing from our latest sponsor, we’ve decided to start a Patreon. Patreon gives listeners a safe and convenient way to help cover those costs while receiving rewards in return.

Even with the pledge of $1 per month, would mean the world to us. If you break it down, it’s $0.25 per show or $12 per year. You can pledge for $1 for one month, or $1 per month until the end of time.

What if the Patreon isn’t successful?

The creation of Frozen Nerdz / Epic Questions content will not change. Nothing with the show will change, besides the possibility of advertisements, no matter the success of this Patreon. If we raise $0, or…. OVER 9000! nothing will change with the show. We will still release a new Episode every Tuesday. Epicinsanity will still try to release new episodes of Knights of Ebon once every leap year, new episodes of Epic Questions every Thursday and new videos on YouTube when we have the time to create them!

What if there is extra money?:

Each and every dollar raised via Patreon will be put right back into creating video game content. Once the bills have been paid, the rest will be funneled right back into the show.

Once we reach a milestone goal, any extra pledged funds will be saved for future month’s expenses. If we receive a sufficient amount, we would use it to upgrade our equipment, purchase additional giveaways, etc.

What the money will NOT be used for?:

Not a single dollar will be used for anything outside of the show. For example, we will not be buying Christmas presents for our family, new toys for our pets, or a year’s supply of RedBull for Epicinsanity. After we receive our payments from Patreon, we will be releasing a monthly newsletter which will include a transparent financial statement showing Patrons exactly how the money is being spent. Our main focus is to be 100% transparent with our Patrons with our finances to show that the money is being spent in a effective way.

If you have made it this far, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read everything about our Patreon!

Our Patreon Milestone Goals:

Milestone #1: $100 – 100% Ad Free

All of our current expenses (Webhosting, Podcast Hosting, Web Security, etc) are covered! If this milestone is met, you will never hear an advertisement for any product and/or service we’ve received money from on our shows!

Milestone #2: $150 – Monthly Giveaways

This milestone would give us the ability to start giving back to our Frozen Nerdz community with a monthly giveaway!  As well as giving us the ability to support YOUR favorite content creators on Patreon via our own pledges!

Milestone #3: $250 – Additional Merchandise on our Store

This milestone would allow us to be able to commission an artist/graphic designer to help create a variety of different types of new merchandise for our store!

Milestone #4: $500 – Live Recorded Episodes with Video

If this milestone is met, it would give us the ability to upgrade more equipment in order to record our shows live with video. You’ve been warned, these Nerdz have the face for radio!

Additional Milestones Added if Milestone #4 is met.

Help Wanted: Audio Project

Hello Nerd Nation!

Epicinsanity here. I just wanted to reach out to everyone and see if some of you are able to help, or have an idea or two for a project that I am going to be working on.

As many of you know, I am currently unemployed. No, I am not writing to tell you that I need money to feed my goldfish, or that my World of Warcraft sub is about to expire, so I need you to sell a kidney or your favorite collectable to help me. This is all about keeping me busy at home while I wait for new opportunities to open up!

As many of you know, I have been podcasting for almost 4 years. On January 2nd, 2013 was the release of the first episode of Epic Questions, and I have fallen in love with podcasting and audio editing ever since. With hundreds of hours of audio recorded, edited and published, I have a large variety of audio samples to use, but I could use more as I start building a portfolio for voice acting. I am not looking to be the next movie trailer guy you here in the theaters for the next Land Before Time movie, but I am looking to start doing some freelance work in the voice acting field.

So you may be wondering? But Epic, where do I come in? Well, I am looking for more ideas for different types of voice over work to do to put into my SoundCloud account, so I can show case some of my abilities. Even though I spend a lot of time in front of a microphone just talking, my ability to follow a script is not where it should be. So I am going to offer up my voice, and my audio editing skills to create audio files for you to use.

So if you are looking for an introduction to your podcast, a commercial for your podcast, voice work for your YouTube channel, or Twitch channel, or just want an… epic… ringtone, or you want me to read your children’s favorite book, etc. Here are some samples of different things I’ve done.

Samples:

The Details:
— Audio Length: 1 – 2 minutes of edited audio (Longer if for a larger project).
— Content of the Recording: Can be a written script from you, or I can use my creative mind to come up with something for your liking.

My Equipment:
— Microphone: Shure SM-7B
— Audio Interface: Scarlett 2i2 by Focusrite.
— Microphone Cable: Mogami Gold Studio.
— Recording Device: MacBook Pro (2015) [Processor: 2.2Ghz Intel Core i7; Memory: 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3; Hard Drive: 500GB SSD; Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536MB] — Software: GarageBand (Recording) and Adobe Audition CS6 (Editing).

I am doing all of this for an undetermined period of time. I am not sure how popular it may be, or how many requests I will get to do different types of work. But if you are interested in any of the above ideas, or you have a few ideas of your own, please contact me directly at Epicinsanity@FrozeNerdz.com, or Direct Message me on Twitter @Epic_Insanity.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and reach out!

Sincerely,

Epicinsanity
